Ward announced as double finalists in Derby Telegraph Awards

Derby Telegraph Awards

Ward, the Derbyshire-based metal, recycling and waste management specialist, has been announced as double finalists in the Derby Telegraph Business Awards 2019 in both the Employer of the Year and Company of the Year categories.

Now in their 6th year, the Derby Telegraph Business Awards represent the cream of the city and county’s businesses, ranging from innovative small businesses to top-performing large firms.

Derbyshire Live editor Julie Bayley said: “I’d like to congratulate all of the finalists on their nominations. The standard of entries was exceptionally high and it is hugely encouraging for the city and the county as a whole that so many firms decided to enter.”

Donald Ward, Commercial Manager at Ward, said: “This is the first time we’ve entered the Derby Telegraph Business Awards and being shortlisted as finalists in both these categories is a proud achievement for us as a local Derbyshire business.

“As an independently owned, fourth generation family business, being named as finalists in the Employer of the Year and Company of the Year category is a testament to the phenomenal hard work of the team here at Ward. To be recognised across both categories, amongst such stiff competition, is a brilliant result and we have everything crossed for the award ceremony in June at the Roundhouse.”

Organised in association with Champions (UK) Plc, the Derby Telegraph Business Awards’ headline sponsors are ITV, Derby College, Thomas International and Stirland Paterson Group.

The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner to be held at Derby College’s Roundhouse on Wednesday, June 5.

Recently, Ward was a double winner at the www.BusinessDesk.com Masters Awards, taking home the Large Business and Family Business of the Year trophies. It was also crowned Family Business of the Year and Fastest Growing Family Business at the 2018 Midlands Family Business Awards, which it will sponsor in 2019. As well as the two Derby Telegraph categories, Ward is now in the running for the National finals for ‘Family Business of the Year’, with the winner decided in June.
