Ward have a number of permanent, full time roles for Recycling Operatives based at our waste processing site in Ilkeston.

Hours and location

The roles are full time, permanent and based at Ward, Hallam Fields Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 4AZ.

40 – 47.5 hours per week

Weekly Pay (£9.50 p/h & overtime at £11.88 p/h )

The Role:

The primary function of the role is to carry out a range of duties at our Recycling Site in Ilkeston. You will be part of a hardworking team of Ward employees who support in the recycling of over 100,000 tonnes of material each year. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will carry out a range of duties throughout your shift;

  • Site Operative general duties
  • Site clearance and cleaning
  • Picking line duties
  • Assisting fitters in general maintenance
  • FLT Operation (if qualified)

Requirements:

No experience is necessary as full training will be given. What’s most important to us is that you are a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude who enjoys being busy and on their feet.

Development Opportunities:

Recycling Operatives have gone on to complete in-house training to operate Fork Lift Trucks, 360 Cranes and other plant. We also offer an HGV Driver Training scheme for our employees who wish to develop into new roles within our business. The Recycling Operative role is an ideal first job for those wanting to get into the Waste and Recycling industry and build a career with WARD. We can even offer a place on our designated Apprenticeship course ‘Recycling General Operative’ via the MET Academy.
