Ward secures waste contract with Derbyshire County Council

Derbyshire based metal and waste recycling specialist, Ward, has been awarded a two year waste container contract with Derbyshire County Council, with an option to extend for a further two years.

Following a competitive tender process, the multi-million pound contract to supply, deliver and manage approximately 1,300 skips and 100 roll on roll off containers annually, was awarded to Ward to service the areas of Chesterfield and north and south Derbyshire.

Tracy Bryan, Senior Commercial Manager at Ward, said:

“This is a great achievement by the team. We are very much looking forward to working with Derbyshire County Council to provide a comprehensive skip, container and waste management service. Our aim is always to reduce waste to landfill and by handling approximately 25 containers per week for the Council, we can help them achieve their recycling goals and reduce carbon emissions, by managing multiple waste streams locally.”

As a local business with multiple metal recycling and waste processing facilities in the Midlands and impressive sustainability credentials, Ward will deliver the contract from its material processing sites at Chesterfield, Ilkeston and Swadlincote.

As a multi-award winning, independent fourth generation family business, Ward strives to be at the forefront of the bulk metal recycling and waste industry. An ISO accredited business, Ward has also recently been awarded a position on the ESPO framework for Hazardous Waste and Specialist Waste Services, offering public sector customers access to a range of pre-approved service providers.
