Support from #TeamWARD included sponsorship of the live demonstration area, supplying all the wood for demonstrations, sponsoring some of the evening entertainment plus having an exhibition stand, meaning that Ward played a big part in the inaugural event organised by the team at Lets Recycle.

The two day exhibition and conference at NAEC Stoneleigh Park was the first of its kind and brought the whole recycling and waste management industry to life in a positive and relaxed environment across a packed agenda of seminars, networking events and live demonstrations.

It featured seven different indoor and outdoor show areas, three conference theatres and demonstration areas, plus a range of networking events including; Meet the Buyer, Women in Waste, Apprenticeship & Academia Hub and white-collar boxing.

Donald Ward, Ward’s Commercial Manager, said: “It was an excellent event for Ward, generating some promising leads and a really good chance to see and hear about the latest innovations within the industry. It was a brilliant opportunity to connect with customers, suppliers and contacts, new and old. There was a really good presence, it was well organised and proved to be a very positive two days – well worth the time and investment. We’re already looking forward to the next event.”

Highlights from the discussion sessions included ‘Leaders in Resource Management’ chaired by Jacob Hayler from the Environmental Services Association, with input from senior waste management chiefs on some of the industry’s key issues. Other hot topics covered on the conference programme included vehicle emissions, tackling waste crime, deposit return schemes (DRSs) and extended producer responsibility (EPR) proposals and ways to accelerate a transition to a circular economy.

Letsrecycle Live will return in 2021, as next year it alternates with the Cars and Metals show being held on 3rd – 4th June 2020 at NAEC, Stoneleigh, focusing on metals and car recycling. Contact the Cars Team if you are interested in being involved.
