Scrap Administrator

Ward offer metal & waste recycling to homes and businesses throughout the UK – from skip hire and car recycling through to nationwide projects.

The role covers the management of this service within the scrap team from the initial pricing of work and regular updating of commodity pricing, through to the invoicing following material collections from customers, and final account reporting.

A dynamic approach will be required to successfully carry out this role with a diverse client base.

You would be a key member of our administration team providing operational & administrative support to the scrap buyers and company directors. This role is based within our busy accounts team so the successful candidate could be asked to assist within credit control, sales ledger or purchase ledger as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will include various administrative tasks including:

  • Coordination of key reports
  • Distribution of tickets to customers
  • Checking the tickets for photo’s, inspection notes, weight discrepancies and non-conforming items.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly outturn reports and once approved, confirm to our customers.
  • Processing sales invoices and creating purchase self-bills in Enwis (2021) for scrap payments.
  • Resolving queries in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and updating the supplier list

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Experience within an administrative role is essential however industry knowledge would also be beneficial. The ideal candidate must have strong IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Packages. The ability to work independently, and on their own initiative is also essential. Completing work to a high standard, meeting deadlines and having attention to detail are also what WARD are looking for in the ideal candidate.
