Hat Trick of Heavy Metal Hires at Recycling Firm

Metal recycling and waste management specialist, Ward, has announced three new appointments in its metals team to increase scrap metal supply to its nationwide network of sites, supporting its ambitious growth plans.

Anthony Fuller, Steve Howells and Victoria Horner bring more than 50 years combined metal recycling experience to the independent, fourth generation family business. The trio will strengthen Ward’s ferrous and non-ferrous metal buying team, building on existing relationships and developing new ones to increase the supply of good quality material to and from its Cardiff dock operations and state-of-the-art processing facilities across Derbyshire.

Senior Commercial Manager, Anthony Fuller joined Ward in July, following a 19-year career in commercial and leadership roles in the scrap metal industry. Having always been curious about Ward, being an ambitious family-owned firm that is local to him, when the opportunity arose Anthony was keen to bring his commercial acumen to help build Ward’s reputation in new areas and expand its customer base across the UK by building and maintaining strong relationships with scrap suppliers to maximise value.

Northampton based Steve Howells brings 20 years scrap metal experience to Ward. Taking on the role of Regional Commercial Manager in August, he is responsible for purchasing scrap material across the Midlands region. Steve joined Ward due its solid industry reputation and its vision for the future which stood out to him as a great opportunity for the next stage of his career.

Victoria Horner is the most recent addition to the metals team, joining Ward in September as a Contract Manager, where she is responsible for managing large scale, nationwide contracts across the waste and Facilities Management sector for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous scrap. She joins the business following a varied career across new sales, account management and department head roles at one of the largest UK scrap operators. She is passionate about delivering the best customer experience, ensuring transparency in communications and delivering great value across the business and its network.

Mark Attle, Head of Commercial (UK) at Ward commented: “It’s fantastic to welcome three new team members that bring so much experience of the metal recycling industry to Ward. We have ambitious growth plans over the next few years to expand our network of scrap suppliers feeding our sites nationwide, plus increase tonnages of metals for processing and onward export to our customers around the world. We extend a warm welcome to Anthony, Steve and Victoria and look forward to what we can achieve together.”
