Overview of the role:

The role will be based at Cardiff.

£14 – £16 per hour depending on experience.

WARD are currently recruiting for an experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Cardiff. You will be part of a hardworking team of Ward employees who support in the recycling of over half a million tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals each year. Reporting to your Line Manager, you will carry out a range of duties across the site.

Hours and location

We have day, evening and night shifts available. Please note that occasional weekend work may be required. Overtime will be paid at a higher rate and there is a competitive night shift allowance as part of this package as well as a Bonus Scheme.

The Role:

We are looking for experienced Crane Drivers/Material Re-Handlers to join our new team at our new material recycling facility in Cardiff. You will be part of a hardworking team of Ward employees who support in the recycling of over half a million tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals each year. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will carry out associated duties with loading vessels ready for shipment around the world.

Requirements:

The successful candidates will have experience working as a Crane Driver/Material Re-Handler. They will be self motivated, hardworking, team players who are able to work occasional weekends as required.

  • Operate crane and other equipment in a safe, competent manner
  • Monitor materials and report and non-acceptable material items
  • Reform material pile to ensure most effective grab volume
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
